The Sr. Product Designer owns and drives the design for multiple origination products and platforms. Applies a user-centric design process to create high-quality user experiences that foster the intersection between design, user needs, business, and technology. Collaboratively leads Product and Development teams to create and enhance user-centered design solutions. Takes complex design problems from early-stage concepts through final delivery. Brings advanced-level design instincts and outstanding intuition informed by user needs and insights to each project.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Strategy and Planning
- Collaborate with product and development teams to uncover customer and business needs, then translate them into engaging, simple, and intuitive design solutions and understandable concepts that evolve and enhance the product interface and experience.
- Advocate for the customer through human-centered design methods, including discovery, research, whiteboard sessions, and user testing.
- Champion prioritization of design-centered product enhancements grounded in research and analysis.
- Develop and present design proposals and reports to senior management and stakeholders to communicate design vision and progress.
Design Leadership
- Take a design leadership role within product teams on defining requirements, producing wireframes, storyboards, user flows, user interfaces and interactions, visual designs, prototyping, testing, and delivering design assets.
- Provide a strong voice in strategy, research, alignment, analysis, design critiques, and design execution tasks.
- Navigate conflict resolution within the team as well as within project teams and partner relationships.
- Participate in hiring by reviewing resumes, portfolios, and conducting interviews.
- Act as an influential resource to other designers, promoting a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Lead design critiques and foster an environment of continuous improvement and constructive feedback.
- Evangelize best practices in design, usability, and accessibility across the organization by creating and delivering training programs for product and development teams.
Discovering and Delivering
- Create user-centered designs by understanding business requirements, the voice of the customer, user journeys, customer feedback, and usability findings.
- Create process and user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and interaction models, resulting in low and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Conduct usability testing, voice of customer sessions, and gather feedback from customers to iterate on design solutions and enhance user experience.
- Create and maintain design guidelines and design standardization across all products.
- Perform metrics analysis post-launch to inform design/UX optimization efforts. Utilize data to drive design decisions and validate design solutions.
- Plan and facilitate workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needs.
- Story-tell through business acumen and present visual concepts to various stakeholders.
- Create high-fidelity design assets in Figma (or similar software) for acceptance, development, and delivery to market in partnership with product and development teams.
- Collaborate with Agile teams to ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and aligned with technical capabilities.
Additional Responsibilities
- Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.
- Ensure all design outputs adhere to brand guidelines, maintain a consistent visual identity, and adhere to accessibility standards.
- Work with marketing and communication teams to ensure cohesive and effective messaging through visual design.

The Ideal Candidate:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Related experience
- SAFe for Teams Certification 5.0 (SA)
Preferred Certifications:
- Nielsen Norman Group UX Certification
Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in UI/UX, within a tech environment.
- Proficiency in design and research tools (Figma, UserTesting, Playbook UX, FullStory, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Demonstrated capability in leading design projects from inception to completion.
- Experience with translating complex user, business, operational, and technical requirements into clear, intuitive, and compelling user experience deliverables.
- Advanced knowledge in information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design processes, user experience principles and techniques.
- Intermediate level interaction design, with strong visual design and prototyping skills.
- Experience with framing problems, defining insights, and designing new experiences to serve customer needs.
- Able to perform both quantitative and qualitative research, as well as lead user research/usability tests and distill findings into actionable insights.
- Experience working with B2B software technology, B2C software technology, financial services.

The starting salary range for this full-time position in Irvine, CA is $99400 - $124300 per year. This base pay will take into consideration internal equity, candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge and experience among other factors. Origence maintains a highly competitive compensation program. Under company guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual bonus to provide an incentive to achieve targeted goals. Bonuses are awarded at company’s discretion on an individual basis.
