We are seeking an experienced AI Solution Architect to design and deliver end-to-end generative AI solutions that transform raw data from diverse enterprise sources into intelligent, actionable business applications. This role requires a unique blend of data engineering expertise, AI/ML knowledge, and API development skills to create comprehensive solutions that span from data ingestion to AI-powered business intelligence, with a strong focus on Microsoft's unified analytics and AI platform.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Design comprehensive AI solution architectures that integrate multiple data sources (SQL databases, MongoDB, APIs, file systems, Salesforce, Dynamics 365) into cohesive generative AI applications
  • Create technical blueprints for data flow, processing pipelines, and AI model integration across the full technology stack
  • Establish best practices for scalable, secure, and maintainable AI solution architectures leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI Foundry, or similar technologies.
  • Define integration patterns and standards for connecting disparate data sources to AI workflows

Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

  • Architect end-to-end data solutions using Microsoft Fabric's unified data platform
  • Design and implement data pipelines using Fabric Data Factory and integrate with external systems
  • Leverage Fabric's OneLake architecture for seamless data integration across all workloads
  • Implement real-time analytics using Fabric's Real-Time Analytics and Event Streams capabilities
  • Optimize data storage and processing using Fabric's Delta Lake and data mesh principles

AI/ML Integration & Development

  • Design and develop MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to enable seamless AI model communication and context sharing
  • Design and deploy generative AI solutions using Azure AI Foundry's model catalog and deployment capabilities
  • Implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures leveraging Microsoft Fabric's unified data platform and MCP servers
  • Implement vector search and semantic capabilities within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem

API Development & Business Intelligence Integration

  • Develop robust APIs and microservices that expose AI functionality through standardized MCP interfaces
  • Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs for AI model inference, data retrieval, and MCP server communication
  • Build Power BI reports and dashboards that leverage AI-generated insights and predictions from MCP-enabled systems
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability for AI APIs, MCP servers, and data services

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and pilot AI implementations
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and evaluate their applicability to business needs

The Ideal Candidate:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or commensurate experience.

Experience:

Model Context Protocol & AI Integration Expertise

  • 2+ years of experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) server development and implementation
  • Understanding of MCP architecture, context management, and multi-agent AI systems
  • Experience building custom MCP servers for enterprise data source integration
  • Knowledge of MCP best practices for AI model communication and context sharing

Azure AI Foundry & Microsoft Fabric Expertise

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric's integrated analytics platform
  • Expert knowledge of Azure AI Foundry for AI application lifecycle management
  • Deep understanding of Fabric workspaces, compute engines, and cross-workspace collaboration
  • Experience with Fabric's security model, data governance, and compliance features
  • Proven expertise in Fabric Data Factory, Power BI integration, and Real-Time Analytics

General Architecture & Design

  • 5+ years of solution architecture experience with enterprise-scale cloud implementations
  • Understanding of modern data architecture patterns including data mesh, lakehouse, and medallion architecture
  • Experience with OneLake and delta table optimization for large-scale analytics workloads
  • Experience with microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and database optimization

AI/ML Expertise

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Machine Learning, Neural Networks, generative AI, LLMs, and Azure AI Foundry
  • Proficiency with Azure AI Foundry's prompt flow, model evaluation, and deployment capabilities
  • Experience with MCP server integration in AI workflows and multi-agent systems
  • Experience with responsible AI practices, content safety, and AI governance within the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Understanding of fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and model optimization techniques

Specialized Skills:

Microsoft AI & Analytics Platform

  • Expert-level proficiency with Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Real-Time Analytics, Power BI, Synapse), Azure OpenAI Service, and Azure Cognitive Services
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP): Expert knowledge in developing and implementing MCP servers for AI model integration, context management, and multi-agent systems
  • Data Technologies: Expert experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL), MongoDB, NoSQL databases, and modern data engineering workflows
  • Enterprise Integrations: Hands-on experience with Salesforce APIs, Dynamics 365, CRM/ERP data extraction, Microsoft Graph APIs, and Azure Active Directory
  • Development & APIs: Strong skills in Python, C#, Java for enterprise APIs, microservices, REST/GraphQL, and MCP protocol implementation
  • Business Intelligence: Expert-level Power BI experience including custom connectors, DAX, Power Query, and advanced reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field
  • Cross-cloud platform knowledge (AWS, GCP) is advantageous but not required
  • Experience with MCP server architecture and protocol implementation for AI systems
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and Azure security best practices
  • Previous experience in consulting or client-facing technical roles

The starting salary range for this full-time position in Irvine, CA is $147900 - $184900 per year. This base pay will take into consideration internal equity, candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge and experience among other factors. Origence maintains a highly competitive compensation program. Under company guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual bonus to provide an incentive to achieve targeted goals. Bonuses are awarded at company’s discretion on an individual basis.
